Mastitis +
Blocked Ducts

One in every three mothers cease breastfeeding due to pain or infection associated with inflammatory conditions of the lactating breast (ICLB).

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that all infants are exclusively breastfed for the first six months of life. Evidence suggest that lactating and breastfeeding for mother and baby are associated with increased health benefits.

At Women’s & Pelvic Health Physio Riverland we want to do everything possible to help mothers to continue breastfeeding their baby.

Common conditions which may be experienced when breastfeeding include engorgement, blocked milk ducts & mastitis.

Symptoms associated with these conditions can be extremely disabling.
